Being a very musical person myself (always surrounding myself with sound, and the likes), the picture speaks volumes to me, and it’s appropriately titled, too (not to mention that lovely sentiment afterwards)!
In the entire photo, I think my favourite aspect is definitely the bokeh blurring around the black; it stands out, yet without being distracting, and I’ve always had a soft-spot for it! I also find the streak of light across the keys fascinating, and alluring, especially as they’re more of a rich, orange, fiery tone (which is quite dynamic), and that fact it enhances the gold behind/above them!
Now, the hearts are a little fascinating (watch out, I’m about to begin rambling and it probably won’t make a lick of sense): While they add a certain emotion to the piece, and they’re a stunning, vibrant colour, they’re a little distracting. Not because of their placement, oh definitely not – don’t worry! No, they’re a little distracting because they’re blurred, or overly so. If anything, I would have increased the depth of field just a tad, so that a few more were sharpened. The reason they seem a little awkward is because of the way the entire piece is focused: technically the top of the image itself is blurred, but I believe that it’s the background that should be (the top and BG are one in the same here, though), while the foreground remains crisp. The problem is that most of the lovely hearts appear to be in the foreground (it may just be a distortion – they may actually be in the background), yet they’re still unfocused. I also think the over-saturation on them adds to it. So, nothing overly major, I just think it would be more effective if you had a few more that were like the landed hearts (which, by the way, are brilliant)!
Overall, I love the feeling in the piece, really! Gorgeous colours, nicely detailed, and each individual section combines together to form a lovely feeling! Congratulations on another delightful photograph! Keep over the lovely work!
I don't play the piano although i am an avid music fan and musician. (i play the clarinet and bassoon)
I love the feeling that this picture gives me. It fills me with a sort of nostalgia, hope, and serenity. The lighting and focus of the shot is perfection, and the hearts just bring the whole shot together.
I usually feel very fluent and confident in my words (being as i like to write) but speech escapes me at the moment. This shot is truly phenomenal and i thank you for sharing it with all of us here on DA.
